Dysport® is a botulinum toxin injection, similar to Botox®, that is used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). The formation of these frown lines are caused by muscle movements in the face, which can gradually become deeper and more noticeable over time. Dysport® works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, relaxing facial muscle activity and therefore temporarily reducing the appearance of frown lines. Dysport® can also help prevent frown lines from worsening.

What Can I Expect from the Dysport® Treatment Process?

We ask that all Dysport® patients arrive at their treatment with a freshly washed face and no makeup. This is for your own safety to reduce the risk of infection/inflammation with filler products. Dysport® treatments involve a series of small injections directly into the muscles responsible for frown lines. The procedure is quick, typically taking about 10 to 20 minutes. Our injectors will use a fine needle to inject Dysport® into five points between and above your eyebrows. The injections are generally well-tolerated and cause minimal discomfort.

What Results Can I Expect from Dysport®?

There is no downtime after Dysport®, with minimal side effects from treatment. Some patients may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, which typically resolves within a few hours to a day. Patients can expect noticeable improvements in the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows within a few days after treatment. The results typically last between three to four months. Dysport® helps to smooth and soften the lines, giving the face a more relaxed and youthful appearance. The treatment does not affect the rest of the face, so you can maintain natural facial expressions. Individual results may vary, and our providers will provide a realistic expectation of the outcomes based on your specific condition and treatment plan.
