Your Initial Consultation
We believe patient education is an invaluable aspect of the patient’s experience. We go to great lengths to ensure you understand the details of your procedure, what results to expect, and what the typical recovery is like. During the initial consultation with Dr. Taylor, you are encouraged to ask any questions you may have. An auxiliary staff member will also be present to take detailed notes of the whole consultation which you will be given to take home. You are also welcome to call the office at any time if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Consultations can last 30-60 minutes depending on the procedure or treatment being discussed. We plan our schedule to avoid overbooking because we value our patients’ time and feel that it is unfair to leave you waiting.
Pre-Surgical Consultation
After you book your surgical procedure, you are asked to return for a pre-operative appointment about two weeks prior to that date. If pre-surgical tests are indicated, they will need to be completed 2-3 weeks before surgery. You will receive a set of individualized pre-op and post-op instructions specific to the procedure and your health considerations. Prescriptions are also given at this time so they can be filled prior to surgery and are ready for you at home when you return from surgery. Depending on your procedure, Dr. Taylor may recommend the On-Q® pain ball to help manage post-operative discomfort. This device infuses numbing medication to the treated area over several days, greatly reducing the need for oral pain medication. You are asked to carefully follow all pre-operative directions but are always encouraged to call with any concerns. Some auxiliary staff members even provide their cell phone numbers so they are available to you at all times. Patient satisfaction is always our top priority.
